The Crane Wife 4

The fourth page that I did for "The Crane Wife" based on the songs by The Decemberists, which is based on the story "tsuru no ongaishi".

Fun fact; in the original story, it was not a young man who saved the crane, but an old man who later went home to his old wife. They adopted the young woman who volunteered to weave textiles so as long as they didn't watch her wave. The wife was persistent that they at least peak, so they did. It turned out that the young lady was the crane that the old man saved and was ripping out the feathers from her wing. The young woman was so offended that the old couple broke their promise and invaded her privacy that she flew away.
